Kitchen World is one of the biggest names in Irish kitchens, and one of the first places people visit. Threads like "is Kitchen World on the higher end?" on r/irishpersonalfinance, and "IKEA vs Kitchen World vs others" on boards.ie, show the same thing: people want to know how they compare on price and quality before they commit.

This page is not an argument against them. It is a straight comparison of two ways of buying a kitchen, and of what each of us tells you in writing before you sign. Everything about Kitchen World below is taken from their own website in September 2026.

Who are Kitchen World?

A family business trading since 1977, with ten showrooms and its own installers.

Their showrooms are in Sandyford, Longmile Road, Finglas, Swords, Bray, Newbridge, Cork, Waterford, Dungarvan and Galway. They sell their own Irish made kitchens alongside a German range from Nolte, plus wardrobes, worktops, sinks, taps and appliances from brands including Bosch, AEG and Whirlpool.

Where Kitchen World is the stronger choice

Nearly fifty years of trading, ten showrooms you can walk into, a longer warranty than ours, and hundreds of reviews you can read.

You can see, touch and open their kitchens before you buy, in a showroom near you. They fit with their own installers, and the quoted price covers supply, delivery and installation. Their warranty runs five years, which is longer than our 2 years on wood. And they have a large body of customer reviews, with a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from over 400 reviews on Trustpilot in September 2026. We are new, we have no showroom, and our reviews are only starting. If track record and seeing it in person is what settles it for you, that settles it.

How do the two compare, side by side?

Is Kitchen World on the higher end?

They do not publish a kitchen price, so nobody can answer that from their website. The honest way to find out is an itemised quote.

Their FAQ says the price depends on the size, finishes, worktops and appliances you choose, which is true of any kitchen, including ours. They regularly run free fitting promotions worth up to €1,000, so it can pay to ask what offer is running when you get your quote. We publish ours: from €12,000 fitted including VAT, with a typical family kitchen with quartz running €15,000 to €25,000. Appliances are excluded either way.

Everything we supply is premium and made to the highest spec, and it is priced to that standard. If you are working to a tight budget, we are honestly not the right fit.

What is the carcase made from?

The carcase is the box behind the door, the part you never see. Ours is published in full. We could not find board type or thickness published for theirs.

Most Irish kitchens are built on 18mm melamine faced chipboard. It is fine kept dry, but it swells for good if water gets into a cut edge, and screws loosen with repeated hinge adjustment. Showroom, or a visit to your house?

They offer both. We only do the house visit, because that is where the problems that cost money later are found: the floor that is not level, the soil pipe boxed into the corner, the window board lower than you assumed.

Our sequence is fixed. Stephen calls out within 2 working days to measure and photograph. Our designers then produce full 3D plans of your actual room with an itemised quote within a further 2 working days. From sign off, allow 12 weeks to an installed kitchen. No cost, no obligation, no booking fee.

How should you decide?

• You want a long track record and reviews you can read: Kitchen World.
• You want a warranty longer than two years: theirs runs five.
• You want it fitted fast: their stated lead time is shorter than ours.
• You want plywood carcases and the full specification in writing before you sign: that is what we publish.
