How far is Navan from you, and does that change anything?

Access is worth a sentence, because it is where a Navan job differs from a city one. What kind of kitchens do Navan houses usually need?
Three shapes repeat: big square estate kitchens from the 2000s boom, narrow returns in the old town centre, and wide open kitchens in one off county houses.
Navan grew faster than almost any town in the country through the late 1990s and 2000s, and the housing stock shows it.
The 1998 to 2008 estate house, which covers most of Johnstown, Windtown, Athlumney and Blackwater, usually has a decent sized square kitchen at the back with a door to the garden, a separate utility off it and a straight run of standard units that were put in by the builder. The rooms are a good size, so the problem is rarely space. It is that the original kitchen was specified to a builder's budget and the layout follows the plumbing rather than the room. Those kitchens are the ones where a made to measure island or a run of full height presses changes the room completely, because there is floor to do it with.
The town centre house, on and off Trimgate Street, Watergate Street, Ludlow Street and Brews Hill, is older and narrower, with a return at the back and a kitchen that has been extended into at some point. Those rooms have level changes, chimney breasts and windows in awkward places, and a standard kitchen fills the alcoves either side of the breast with filler panels. A made to measure one turns the same alcoves into a slim pull out and a full height press.
The one off county house, which is most of the housing between Navan and Kells, Slane, Athboy or Trim, tends to have a large kitchen that doubles as the main room of the house, often with a back kitchen or utility, a solid fuel stove and a dining end.
