Wicklow covers a wider spread of housing than anywhere else we work: Victorian and Edwardian stock along the coast at Bray and Greystones, newer estate housing inland and around Blessington, and a lot of individual one off houses in between. The design question changes completely depending on which of those you are in.

Which parts of Wicklow do you cover?

All of it. Most often Bray, Greystones, Delgany, Kilcoole, Newtownmountkennedy, Blessington and Wicklow town.

The north of the county is closest and where we are most often, but the free design visit applies across Wicklow, down as far as Arklow, with no travel charge.

There is no minimum job size to get us out, and no charge whether you go ahead or not.

What is different about the older coastal housing?

Bray and Greystones hold a lot of period stock, where the kitchen is often a smaller back room rather than the open space people now want.

Period houses were not built with the modern kitchen in mind. The original kitchen is usually a modest room at the back, sometimes with a return beside it, and the rooms are tall with generous windows but awkward proportions at floor level.

The two usual routes are working within the room, which means made to measure cabinetry cut to walls that are rarely square, or opening the back of the house. Either way the joinery has to answer to the room rather than the other way round, and matching the finish to the existing period detail matters. Our shaker and traditional kitchen pages cover the styles that suit.

And the newer housing inland?

Square rooms, standard layouts, and the same twenty year old units reaching the end of their life.

Estate housing around Blessington, Newtownmountkennedy and the edges of the coastal towns has the familiar profile: a decent sized square kitchen with a builder specified run of units that has done its time.

There the gain comes from layout and storage rather than from fighting the geometry. A larder, fewer wall units and a properly planned working triangle change the room more than replacing like for like ever would.

How does a Wicklow job actually run?

Free measure and design visit, 3D plans, one itemised quote, then manufacture and fitting by our own team.

The visit is at a time that suits you, evenings included. You see the kitchen in 3D in your own room before anything is made, and you get an itemised quote you can compare line by line.

Nothing is charged and nothing is ordered until you say yes. Our main kitchens page has the full detail.

How it works

We call out, measure the space and talk through what you want. Our designers draw it in 3D so you see the finished piece in your own room, and you get one complete itemised quote within two working days. Nothing is ordered and nothing is charged until you say yes.

One team for this and the rest of the job

The same team that makes this fits it, and we also do kitchens, fitted wardrobes, internal doors and windows. If more than one thing needs doing, it is one contractor, one schedule and one point of contact rather than four. See the rest of our work.

Frequently asked questions

All of the county, most often Bray, Greystones, Delgany, Kilcoole, Newtownmountkennedy, Blessington and Wicklow town.

Can you match a kitchen to a period house?

Yes. Framed doors, painted finishes and matching the existing joinery are what make a kitchen sit properly in an older house.
